Skipper 3 - Calpodes ethlius

Skipper 3 - Calpodes ethlius
DeSoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA

Larger and chunkier than a Clouded Skipper which is the most common in my garden and therefore my standard for size estimation. Could it be a Brazilian Skipper?

yes
The spots on the underside of the HW and the size make it a Brazilian Skipper. If it was a jumbo-sized skipper, definately.
