Akalyptoischion dyskritos

Akalyptoischion dyskritos
Near Ojito Wilderness, Sandoval County, New Mexico, USA
January 7, 2009
Size: 1.6 mm
I recently collected a packrat's nest which had 9 species of Latridiids (I'll try to photo some and add them to the guide). There were lots of this species which is known only from Utah (Hartley, Andrews and McHugh, Coll Bull, 61, supp.) This genus now has 24 species, up from 8 with this new revision. This species has the 3-segmented antennal club. Also note the erect long hairs around the elytral apex.
