Spider - Argiope aurantia

Spider - Argiope aurantia
Merrimack, NH, New Hampshire, USA
August 11, 2008
Size: around 1.5 in.
At first I thought this was an argiope, but it had different markings than the black and yellow variety. It was really brown and yellow, and the legs do not have stripes. It spins a zig-zag in its web, and doesn't an argiope do that? Its web is huge, the one I found was easily 2 feet across. It had trapped a dragonfly. Web was between milkweed plants.
