if by any chance you know the kind of flower - please do share

thanks :)

The flower looks like probably a Rudbeckia

Probably Euchloe ausonides, based on pattern. The other option for western Colorado would be E. [hyantis] lotta. The species in this group can be very confusingly similar, and there is still debate as to which are good species, which are just subspecies of one another, and even which species occur where.

Generally E. hyantis would have a wider and more rectangular black bar near the middle of the front wing.

This is a very late date for the species (generally flies March to June, depending upon elevation and the weather of the particular year. Mostly in April and May). This one looks old and worn, so the black markings are rather faded, and the wings are almost transparent.

Heck, I'm happy
I at least got to genus okay on this one! I'm pretty much a moth girl!

not an id
but take a look at Euchloe hyantis hyantis - California Marble
