Size: 3-4 mm
This one flew in a tight circle before landing on the leaf.

Moved
I just noticed this beetle was IDed months ago but was never moved, so I moved it to its own guide page.

Hi Bill,
One of the nitidulid specialists I contacted to look at the unidentifieds in this family passed the request along to Andrew Cline, an insect systematist for the State of California. Here is his CV of 10 months ago. Presumably his PhD has been awarded by now.

At any rate, he conducted a whirlwind tour through our Nitidulidae, dropping IDs as he went. Neat!

Thanks for the help.

Nitidulidae?
This reminds me of a nitidulid, but there are other families with similar-appearing beetles.

Thanks for the help.
