Black Carpenter Ant (Camponotus pennsylvanicus) - worker
A so-called "medium" worker, i.e. too large to be a minor one, but not large enough to be a major.
Combination of large size, whole black integument and golden hue on the gaster are the hallmarks for this widespread species.
