linty bug - Reduvius personatus

linty bug - Reduvius personatus
Nelson, British Columbia, Canada
February 6, 2009
Size: 1/2 inch long
Found in the bathroom. Quite "linty" seems more like a bug than a spider. We had recently been in California desert and were unpacking which may be a clue? We are on vacation in a house rental so unaware of type of trees near by. It is February. There are also quite a few ants in the bathroom too mentioning this in case its a clue that MS/Mr. LINTY likes to eat ants.

Moved
Moved from Masked Hunter.

Masked Hunter nymph I think...
The young of an assassin bug...See here..They often cover themselves up with debris, perhaps as camouflage.

thank you
I think you are right on - especially since there is a washer and dryer in bathroom where linty bug was discovered. Thanks for the information. I had already wasted days thinking about it and trying to research it on my own -- so, much appreciate this identification service. Tina
