Winter Stonefly - Taeniopteryx

Winter Stonefly - Taeniopteryx
Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
February 13, 2009
Size: 15mm

Taeniopteryx sp. female
Now I'm determined to go back and find a male.

Taeniopteryx sp.
Need a male - females of burks*i and maur*a can't be separated, which is where these three end up. Came out way earlier than they should have.

I
must go to the southcentral part of NH - I haven't seen any adults out yet, and I have been looking here on the seacoast.

They're just starting
I was surprised to find 3 of these yesterday, since it was only 30 degrees, cloudy and windy.
I saved them for you.

All
females - catch males! I probably can identify this one, but must again go to the key at work.

What are the odds?
Out of the three, not a single male:-(
I'll try to find more, and maybe a male.
