Not a bee:-)
Something better: a syrphid fly in the genus Microdon. Larvae look more like a limpet than an insect, and they live inside ant nests. Great image, too!

When I initially looked at it I thought it was a fly, but after looking at it for awhile I changed my mind. ;) Thanks again.
