Globular springtail

Globular springtail
Newport Beach, Orange County, California, USA
February 14, 2009
Size: ~0.5 mm
Could this one be feeding on the other, dark springtails surrounding it?

Sminthuridae
They do not feed on the other springtails. There are only a few carnivore species of Collembola. Most Collembola are scavengers.

Globular springtails
When I've collected the light-slate gray springtails, I often see globular springtails (mine are yellow) in much smaller numbers.
