Size: About 2-3cm
I was flipping logs and found at least a half-dozen of these, all of similar size. I was able to tentatively ID them based on photos at this site. The range does not specifically list Arkansas, so is this an unusual find?

The ID is correct, though it's not too unusual to find them there. This species has a pretty wide distribution in the Eastern US, though in California the family is lacking entirely. Neat beetles in any case :-)
