Spider Wasp - Auplopus

Spider Wasp - Auplopus
Baiting Hollow, Suffolk County, New York, USA
September 16, 2008
Size: small

Thanks everyone
I'm delighted to have this nice small wasp go as far as Genus.

Pepsinae
Looks like an Auplopus. Was the wasp green or blue metallic?

wasp color
It was so small that my eye really did not register the color.
I think more green than blue from the photos.
I added 2 more unretouched image so that you can judge the color.
They can be frassed.

I have been searching the guide for Pepsinae, but can't find it.

Pompilidae...
Pepsinae is a subfamily. i think it is safe to call it an Auplopus... probably not going to get a species though, they can be very difficult even when you have one.
