Bug Under Rock - Brochymena dilata

Bug Under Rock - Brochymena dilata
Atascosa Peak, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
February 17, 2009
Size: 10-11 mm
This bug (nymph?) was under a rock, presumably somewhat dormant for the winter as it didn't move, on a rocky slope in the understory of open Madrean oak-pinyon-juniper woodland not far off the Atascosa Peak trail.

Great news, Richard! i grew to like your pic and did suspect something special -- and it indeed turned out to be the only image of this species in the guide. So, many thanks -- and pls keep an eye out for them suckers: we need more photos of this apparently uncommon species!

Moved from Brochymena.
