Apartment bug - Cimex lectularius

Apartment bug - Cimex lectularius
chicago, IL, Illinois, USA
February 20, 2009
Size: 1/4 of an inch or less
I seem to have a few of these in my apartment all of a sudden and I am not sure what they are.

Looks like
Cimex lectularius (Common Bed Bug)

Yes, bedbug
Not a good thing to have in your home though (they are ectoparasites on mammals and thus will suck your blood)...you might want to control these critters before they become an infestation- Check here for example, for more info on their biology and methods of control.

Unanimous.
Bed bugs indeed....Be sure to know your rights as a tenant! You should not be saddled with the (total) burden of paying for the eradication, but some landlords will attempt to make you liable. Also, understand the eradication process is very invasive. You literally have to take the place apart. Best wishes to you for prompt resolution of this.
