Sap-Feeding Beetle (Conotelus mexicanus) - Conotelus

Sap-Feeding Beetle (Conotelus mexicanus) - Conotelus
Arcadia, Los Angeles County, California, USA
February 22, 2009
Size: 1-2mm
Found drinking from a daisy. Sap-feeding beetle (Conotelus mexicanus)

I say Conotelus sp.
To me this looks like an adult Conotelus sp., and here in the LA area it is likely to be Conotelus mexicanus, though I don't know of a more accurate way to distinguish members of this genus.

thanks
Excellent work, Chris. Thanks!
