Broken Twig Moth - Admetovis similaris

Broken Twig Moth - Admetovis similaris
Fullerton, Orange County, California, USA
February 27, 2009
Size: 1" (approx.)
This moth looked just like a little piece of a broken twig. I was unable to match it to anything so far, although Phalera bucephala comes kind of close.

Interesting moth...
Could have easily passed this off as a broken piece of wood..New genus and species pages created.

SO cool!
Thanks Cindy!

ID
I believe this is Admetovis similaris in the Noctuidae here. The only other possibility I know of is A. oxymorus, but I think it flies later in the year.
