Eastern boxelder bug - Boisea trivittata

Eastern boxelder bug - Boisea trivittata
Ackworth, Warren County, Iowa, USA
March 1, 2009
Size: 12 mm
I know it is a boxelder bug, but which species? Several years ago, we (like whole state) experienced huge invasion of these into our house for several consecutive winters, thousands of individuals. This year they are quite rare, in fact this is the first one I've seen since I started photographing insects for BugGuide in November.

Apparently, yours is the Eastern type, i.e. Boisea trivittata
Western is on the other side of the Rockies, according to the Bug Guide Info page.

That's what I thought, too...
... but just making sure. Thanks!
