Named in honor of Christopher Henne (1905-1977).
Range
Desert side of Southern California Mountains, mostly within Colorado Desert region.
Remarks
Somewhat similar looking to subspecies (asigned to both E. chalcedona and E. anicia) that are found further east and north in the Great Basin and Sonoran Desert, but perhaps, on average, with less orange than most of those, and those tend to be a bit smaller in size. On the flip side, there tends to be more orange (on average) than on ssp. chalcedona found nearer to the coast, but the difference is very insignificant.
