Anthocharis sara is mainly a California endemic and doesn't expand eastward past Western Imperial County, CA.

 
As a matter of clarification for anyone checking in here -
The names thoosa, stella, julia, sara, and all the other segregates of this complex are not sorted out into more than one distinct species category on BugGuide as of yet, and the Pelham catalog is being followed.
