Size: Body approx. 1 inch
I am curious what type of bug this is. It is not a bug we have seen before. The colors are somewhat distorted since it was in a bottle when the photo was taken (we released the bug without harming it after we took the photo). It is black with bright yellowish green pattern on it body.

I think this is a Locus Borer
I think this is a Locus Borer Megacyllene robiniae.

I dont know much about beetles
But it appears to match with images of Megacyllene caryae, here:
