Carabid beetle - Agonum placidum

Carabid beetle - Agonum placidum
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
June 13, 2008
I hope 2009 will be a good bug year like 2008.

Moved
Moved from Agonum.

Agonum I think...
but wait for an expert to comment.

Agonum
is a safe choice.

my 2 Can. cents
Agonum (Agonum) placidum on Can.Carabid website looks really good

I agree
based on overall habitus, colour, and comparison with my keyed specimens- one important feature that is barely visible in the enlarged image is the presence of 4 dorsal punctures in the 3rd interval of each elytron. In Alberta, seems to be a common species in dry, open habitats.

Moving to genus page
Thanks for the help on this one Peter, Tim and =v=.
