These are very nice shots. Somebody should be able to ID this fly further.

Wow.
What a shot! Pretty certain this is a "frit fly," family Chloropidae. You can even see the expanded vertex (triangular area at top of head) that is characteristic of these flies. I do reserve the right to be wrong when it comes to Diptera, though:-) Please wait for confirmation.
