Yellow Scarab Hunter Wasp (Campsomeris pilipes) - Dielis pilipes - male

Yellow Scarab Hunter Wasp (Campsomeris pilipes) - Dielis pilipes - Male
Madrona Marsh Preserve, Torrance, Los Angeles County, California, USA
March 17, 2009
Size: ~ 20 mm
I was thrilled to be at the right flower at the right time, as it came and went in a hurry.
This is one of the largest wasps I've ever seen.

It looks like a female Yellow Scarab Hunter Wasp (Campsomeris pilipes).

Corrections or a confirmation and move to a new sub-page are much appreciated.

I can add more (mostly dorsal view) photos if needed.

Campsomeris pilipes, male
Right on! This is a male.

Moved from Campsomeris.

Thanks a lot for your confirmation and correction, George !
