Formerly known as Ctenicera vernalis, this species has now been re-classified as Anostirus vernalis in Majka and Johnson 2008

This one sure is one of seveal striking ones in the group and the elaterids are sure another group I really want to "sink my teeth into" this summer and with well over a hundred species in the Maritimes recorded so far, there will be plenty to look at! Et le plaisir est le mien aussi, car le monde naturel est tellement fascinant!
