2-segmented flagellum
abdomen slender, visibly divides from thorax
color ranges from blue-violet to light orange
no patches or stripes, only subtle waxy grains that make the dorsum look "soft"
often in warm places, compost heaps, under sunlit rocks
Range
Native to the Mediterranean, adventive elsewhere and now cosmopolitan
