This can also be moved to the species page. Intraspecific competition with this many females on the same tree at the same time is not very common. Nice find.

A nice shot showing a few females inserting their ovipositers into the wood after apparently homing in on prospective hosts (woodwasp larvae, which are located deep within the wood).
