Size: about 1 inch long
There were dozens of these guys crawling on the posts of the bridges and the boardwalk along the rushing rivers in the park. The air was cold - 40 degrees - there was still ice in the water.

Hi Marcie-

Yes, the insect in your photos is a stonefly.  I believe it to be Oemopteryx glacialis, which is in family Taeniopterygidae (Winter Stoneflies).  And, based on the shortened forewings, it would be a male.
