Grasshopper 2 - Chortophaga australior

Size: Under 1"
Located in a wide white sandy area. It appeared to have some rear leg damage and clearly was outside its camouflage zone.

Chortophaga australior
A young nymph. In my experience they tend to stay mostly in low vegetation (often grass), and mostly avoid open bare ground (of course they do move around a bit, so maybe this one was between clumps of grass?).

Looks like third instar (about half grown), assuming there are five total, and I think it's a girl.

Thank you
once again for the ID!
