Size: body ~5mm
Looks like a cellar spider, but much more strongly patterned than the ones I usually see in Irvine. There were multiple individuals, not all this strongly patterned.

I was thinking Holocnermus, but then I thought about Smeringopus pallidus as well.

It does look good for that species as well -
but Smeringopus is not on the CA Spiders list here. The list is a bit old, though...
