Moved from Ichneumon Wasps.

The larger size, a cylindrical elongated abdomen becoming dorsolaterally compressed apically, lack of an areolet, and the hind coxae being more than two times longer than wide indicates a male wasp in this subfamily.

I have this ID'd as Rhyssella nitida

This could well be in this genus, but from this reference here, R. nitida supposedly has a uniformly black gaster and mesosoma (without white markings) which is not the case here. Care to comment?

Yeah...
This is kind of the problem with IDing ichneumon wasps in general - that is to say that references that are used can be obsolete, not up-to-date, or just plain wrong. If Dr. Purrington feels comfortable with his species key here, then we should add it to the guide; if not I would leave this at the subfamily level for now.
