Metallic bee on desert marigold - Agapostemon melliventris

Followed this lovely insect from marigold to marigold in a front yard in a residential midtown neighborhood in the early evening (~5PM). This genus seems to forage mostly at this time of day here in the desert. Imaged with a Canon PowerShot SD1000 (Elph) on auto macro mode. Pretty sure it is a female, but would like confirmation.
