Northern Bluet - Enallagma annexum - male - female

Northern Bluet - Enallagma annexum - Male Female
Lower Morgan Lake, La Grande, Union County, Oregon, USA
July 5, 2005
Male and female in wheel position. Large eyespots and olive green female lead us to E.cyathigerum. There were thousands of these little jewels cruising through the vegetation in the open field above the lake. Many males often tried to "butt in" to break up the pair and take the other male's place.
