Explanation of Names
Ligyrocoris sylvestris (Linnaeus 1758)
Identification
Differs from L. diffusus by having a significantly longer labium (beak), which extends to the hind coxae, and short wings (does not extend past abdominal tergum 7). Labial segment 1 is shorter than segment 3.
Range
A Holarctic, mainly boreal/northern species found across NA and n. Eurasia(1)(2) south to NM in the west(3)
