Genus Malacosoma
This is one of the beautiful Malacosoma moths here
Not all southwestern species have a page on Bug Guide yet. Try Moth Photographers Group here
You can scroll left or right to other species.
Maybe 7703 – Malacosoma incurva? Hopefully someone knows these moths better.

Malacosoma incurva
Thanks Maury Heiman; thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I got that tent caterpillar here in both of the last 2 years. BINGO! I have a "Tent" caterpillar web within sight outside on office window in the Howard Plum tree currently. Haven't inspected it yet. I am betting that this image is the adult moth of M. incurva.

M. californica or incurva?
I can't decide which one is the best fit for this one-maybe you can contact all leps or MPG's referee for this group to get them to weigh in on an ID.
Nina
