Which Cantharid? - Osphya varians

This beetle may have been about an inch long, but I don't really remember. About three were on the same plant. Is this photo good enough for a species ID?

i'd prefer to keep this on in the guide, if you don't mind
this is an uncommon & badly underrepresented beetle

...what made you frass it after the inspiring comment of Dr Thomas? people get into fights every day about their crappy photos of the commonest insects being frassed -- and you show such a profligacy amidst this frugal world... :-]
