Predaceous stink bug - Brochymena affinis

Predaceous stink bug - Brochymena affinis
Medford, Jackson County, Oregon, USA
March 30, 2009
Size: 17mm
Found on window. This species is very similar in appearance to B. quadripustulata (both of which occur in Oregon), but it seems that B. affinis has a single broader yellow patterning on its hind legs with a blackish marking, whereas B. quadripustulata has hind legs with a more or less checkered yellow/gray appearance. This is just my own opinion, of course, as I have not found any available references to confirm this.
