Oh -
that explains why I had so much trouble ID'ing it! :) Thanks, Kevin. SONA has legs strongly spined keying away from Linyphiidae, which got me on the wrong track. I also associate scapes with Araneidae, and didn't know they were also on some linyphiids.

Edit: Right again, Kevin - took a look at the pics of the epigynum in Kaston. Will move to genus for now. There are several species in CA - I'll see if I can get it to species...
