Brown and Black Wasp - Pachodynerus erynnis

Brown and Black Wasp - Pachodynerus erynnis
Middleburg, Clay County, Florida, USA
March 30, 2009
Size: 19.87mm
Found on flowering holly bush along w/>25 other species of bees, wasps, flies and beetles. Mid afternoon. All of the critters would only visit blossoms bathed in sunlight.
This one has a yellow spot, center of head ant to the 3 ocelli. Tarsi 5-5-5 w/bifurcated
claws w/pulvilli.The tegula appears to cover the entire wing root. Again, did not do well w/ID keys. Looks like I need more work on using
those than anything else. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks
