Know this bug? - Irbisia californica

Know this bug? - Irbisia californica
Nix Nature Center, Laguna Beach, Orange County, California, USA
March 25, 2009
There are, maybe four huge concrete steps by the nature center building. As I walked over to them, I noticed a variety of insects on both the flat and vertical surfaces. I shot eight different species there, on the photographer-preferred neutral gray background. (Myself, I'd rather yellow flowers.)

Irbisia californica Van Duzee, 1921 --det. M.D. Schwartz
Moved from Irbisia.

Is the yellow color on the back natural?
It seems that something like mud is stuck to the bug.

The shape of this bug reminds me of Irbisia. If its color is just black, it should be...

clean bug
WonGun, on the full-size pic i can see that the surface is pristine: black integument covered with dense brass-colored pubescence

I did shoot Irbisia there earlier.
Perhaps this is same genus, different species?
