Robber Fly - Efferia aestuans

Robber Fly - Efferia aestuans
Powhatan County, Virginia, USA
July 29, 2005
Can anyone ID the species? - Thanks

Note: this shot was lightened using photo editing program

Moved
Moved from Efferia.

Nerax
This is a Nerax [Efferia] species. And likely N aestuans though it is a bit dark to verify that the tibiaes have some red on them. There are two othr species out in the east but in Virginia this is likely Nerax aestuans.

I'll just move...
...to Nerax, unless there's a better-lit shot to confirm species ID.
