And thank you too for posting these nice photos. They really show the large "banana-like" 3rd antennal segment and long ovipositor well!

BTW, I too am an avid member of the native plant society in my state (CA)...and got interested in bugs through that avenue as well :-)

Is this the same specimen as the 1st photo in this series?
If so, it's not a male (as presently indicated)...the 1st photo shows the conspicuous ovipositor of a female. If it's a different specimen it should be "unlinked" from the first image (to follow standard BugGuide posting protocols).
