Water scorpion posing out of water - Ranatra

Water scorpion posing out of water - Ranatra
Jean Lafitte National Park, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, USA
March 18, 2009
Haven't witnessed this before. This water scorpion was frozen in this position for several minutes. There was another one swimming at the water's edge about 40cm away, so maybe this is a mating behavior?

I agree too, very cool shot!
