Size: about one inch long
this moth was on an invasive vine growing on an oak tree.

I think this is actually a beetle...
It looks like a net-winged beetle in the genus Calopteron.

Easy mistake to make.
There is a moth that mimics these beetles. See: beetle mimic. It is not surprising that we confuse them.
