Syrphid Fly - Toxomerus? - Toxomerus - female

Syrphid Fly - Toxomerus? - Toxomerus - Female
Elkton, Douglas County, Oregon, USA
March 26, 2009
Size: approx 3/8 inch
Lots of little syrphid flies being chased all over the yard by dance flies - quite entertaining. In places, it's almost like an infestation.

Toxomerus, but unsure of species.

On second look, I should have known better.
It's Toxomerus occidentalis.
