Size: ~ 4mm
One of the many tiny Hymentopterans (Calliopsis sp.?)I saw & find so fascinating that I'm planning a follow-up.

this may be a male of C. helianthi
was Euphorbia blooming on the ground in the area?

Chamaesyce albomarginata, as well as Croton californicus.

that and tiny size are consistent with helianthi
(=euphorbiae)

It's definitely a Micronomadopsis (see Rozen, 1958).

For now I'll post to helianthi.

Was Eriodictyon in the area? If so we need to consider C. fracta.
