Looks like
a robber fly. Maybe something in Mallaphora or Laphria.

 
Not asilid, but a syrphid.
There are lots of bee-mimic syrphid flies (family Syrphidae), and this is one of them. Just not sure which genus to point you to. Stay tuned for comments from Martin Hauser and other fly experts here.
