I Love These...
transparent larvae. I hope you don't mind me asking another question :^) Are you shooting these in distilled water? I'm thinking about exploring the shallow areas of a lake soon and was wondering how you're getting such great results.

Scott,
I'm photographing these aquatic larvae in a small glass bowl (2") on our fake marble counter top, and using clean water from the river or pond that I'm collecting the insects from. Don't use tap water, because you'll get tons of tiny bubbles that cling to the insect.

I will use a small petri dish with some lake water. I don't think I'll find as many interesting things as you have though.
