Goldenrod Round Gall Fly (goldenrod fauna) - Eurosta solidaginis

Goldenrod Round Gall Fly (goldenrod fauna) - Eurosta solidaginis
Horsham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
Size: 6-7 mm.
It hatched from a goldenrod gall that I kept indoors, so I am not putting the date (April 10 or 11) in the field above. Ordinarily they emerge in May or June. I have a few other galls outdoors so I may add other images later. If I am lucky I may find some of the fly parasites, too.
I think that it is a male but I am not sure.
Size from head to abdominal tip: 6-7 mm.

Larva, inside gall           Emerging adult            Galls

These are different individuals, added here for the purpose of illustrating the life cycle.
