Whatisit? - Megalomus fidelis

Whatisit? - Megalomus fidelis
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
April 11, 2009
Has to be Hymenoptera. Beyond that, this bugger has more wings than bug. Whatisit?

Megalomus fidelis, i believe; very nice!
this bugger has exactly as many wings as 99% of the winged Hymenoptera and 99% of the winged Hemiptera, i.e. four. (in some parasitic misrowasps and alate Sternorhyncha one pair is almost or completely lost)

BIG
Yes, but the wings look sooo BIG. Usually, lacewings look flat in dorsal view. BTW Happy Easter.
