mating Toxomerus occidentalis? - Toxomerus - Male Female

The other day I submitted images for a male syrphid fly I believed to be Toxomerus occidentalis. I also posted an image of what I thought might be a female of the species . Whether they are indeed Toxomerus occidentalis is still up in the air, but it does appear that this current image at least indicates they are probably the same species.

Interesting, how similar, yet different they look - even down to the differences in their antenna.

That is interesting, particularly about the antennae.
After checking maybe a half dozen posts of mating pairs, no other exhibits so much variation. Could part of the female's antennae be drooping downward? A side shot might tell us.

I do think this is the same species as your others.
